Happy Birthday to My Baby Girl

Best of Friends
Make a Wish
Mommy's Big Girl

I just can't believe that Emily is already 2 years old. It seems like yesterday we were bringing her home from the hospital. We celebrated her birthday in true Sesame Street style, Elmo cake and all. Tons of people came to help her celebrate and everyone had tons of fun....especially the kiddos who ran throught the house like crazies!
I am so blessed to have such a beautiful, smart little girl. I don't know what we would do without her in our lives. She is truely our precious gift from God.
Happy Birthday Baby Girl!
Love,
Mommy

Congratulations Nick, Sarah and Kaitie!

Headed to Kansas

We packed up and headed to Kansas the day after I finished giving my finals to spend the week before Christmas with Josh's family. We decided to drive rather than fly, thinking either way, Eme was going to be a handful. We headed out about an hour before Eme's bedtime and she fell asleep about 8:30 on the ride up I-65. Thinking she would sleep the whole way to Kansas we settled into our usual road trip banter and radio station scanning. No sooner than we made it through St. Louis....What???? Oh Yes!!! Eme woke up...Saw a McDonalds...and wanted none other than french fries!!!!!! So we are in the middle of nowhere MO at Midnight with a 2 year old eating french fries. Do you think she went back to sleep???? NOOOOOO! She was wide eyed and bushy tailed until we got there at 5 am. Then she wanted to play! But she was the best behaved little girl ever! Driving is the way to go!

Our trip was wonderful! Eme had so much fun playing with her Mawmaw Cheryl and Grandpa Tom. She became fast friends with Cheryl's dog Destiny and much time was spent rough housing in the floor. It was exceptionally warm and Eme was able to play outside in the back yard a few days on our visit. We went shopping, visited with some of Josh's high school friends, went to dinner with the parents, of course had christmas with the family, did family pictures (yay!!!!!) and all in all just visited! Eme enjoyed playing with her Aunt Jen's old my little ponies and left a mess fit for a tornado everywhere she went. I will post all of the wonderful pictures later.

The only downfall to the trip was that Eme slept in bed with us the entire trip and only took one or two short naps while we were there. This led to a few hard weeks when we returned home.

As for the ride home...She slept the ENTIRE way!

I forgot Thanksgiving!

How could I forget Thanksgiving! We have so much to be thankful for this past year. God has been so good to us. Do to some logistic complications :) we had Thanksgiving at our house this year. Normally we go to my Gram's house first and then go to my Grandma June's in the afternoon. Gram had minor surgery and didn't return from Florida so we had dinner. Since we couldn't have dinner at our house AND make it to Grandma June's, we invited BOTH sides of the family to our house at once...What a GREAT idea! it was wonderful! I hope we started a new tradition! I will post pictures later of ALL the cousins. Thank you God for the many blessings in my life!

Celebrating Baby Wojtas

We traveled to Chicago in Mid November to attend Josh's Great-Great Aunt Vicky's baby shower. Baby Wojtas was due sometime in late January ( he made his arrival in early February...see later post!) We had so much fun visiting. We don't get to see Vicky, Dan, Berta, Tony, or Donna near as much as we would like to, so any chance to visit is wonderful. We also got the opportunity to meet Tony's daughter Quincy on our visit. It is so nice to have such a great family! I have always had such a great family and nothing makes me happier than knowing I have married into such a wonderful group of people!
